HOW IS WILLY’S FRESH SALSA MADE?
One taste of Willy’s Fresh Salsa is more than enough for most people to never want to buy a typical store-bought salsa ever again. And a big reason for that is the process we use to make our salsa.
We start by using real ingredients—cilantro, tomatoes, garlic, onions, and more. These ingredients are purchased specifically to provide a fuller flavor to the salsa, and are stored in a cool environment until they are ready to be used.
We add the ingredients to our 50-gallon mix tank. That may sound like a lot, but it’s actually smaller than other manufacturers—and that’s not a bad thing! A smaller batch helps preserve the overall quality and taste to ensure that each container of Willy’s Fresh Salsa is delicious.
Tomatoes are added first, followed by the other ingredients used in the recipe. The mix tank blends the ingredients to create the smooth (cantina!) texture of Willy’s Fresh Salsa, after which the completed product is dispensed into containers. Unlike other manufacturers, the salsa is never boiled. The mix tank can fill about 135 containers in a single minute. These containers are then delivered cold to grocery stores, ready for you to enjoy!
